Chairman Menendez Presides Over First Business Meeting of the 113th Congress

After welcoming U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to a working coffee of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Chairman Robert Menendez gaveled the Committee to order for an important business meeting of the 113th Congress to organize the Committee, establish rules, and appoint subcommittee membership.
“We took some important steps today in preparing the Committee to help our nation meet the many challenges in the 21st Century world,” said Chairman Menendez. “I have the utmost faith and confidence in my colleagues as they execute their assignments on the subcommittees. I also appreciate the time U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon spent with us and for his commitment to working with the United States to promote peace and stability throughout the world.”
