Today, the Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey (PFANJ), the state association of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) endorsed State Senator Barbara Buono in her race for Governor. PFANJ President, Dominick Marino, declared Senator Buono the best candidate for New Jersey’s firefighters.
“The Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey endorses Senator Buono today because she will carry on our mission: improving the life and livelihood of firefighters,” said Marino.
“Throughout her career, Senator Buono has stood by labor issues. She has been a vocal advocate for fair wages. She has fought to protect health care benefits and pensions. New Jersey needs a governor who is focused on middle class priorities. As someone from working class roots, Senator Buono has always fought for the middle class.” said Marino.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of President Marino the PFANJ and the IAFF. New Jersey’s firefighters put their lives on the line for us every day and it is of vital importance that we protect them by ensuring fair labor practices and their right to collectively bargain. I will continue to make these issues a priority if elected governor,” said Buono.
About the PFANJ; The Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey is the IAFF affiliated state association in New Jersey representing nearly 3500 career firefighters and more than 500 career emergency medical care providers in the Garden State.
