In this overview of the psychological and biological responses to trauma, you'll learn the differentiation between normal v. pathological responses, co-morbid conditions and, risk and resilience factors. Explore evidence-based treatment approaches and how it helps sculpt a treatment plan. The workshop also focuses on teaching grounding and stabilization strategies for clinicians to use in the office.

About the speaker: Dr. Masciandaro is the current Vice President of the Clinical Hypnosis Society of New Jersey. She utilizes Ericksonian hypnosis to help clients develop inner strengths, affect regulation skills, and to deal with chronic and acute illness. A faculty member of the EMDR Institute, she is also a facilitator and presenter for their Humanitarian Assistance Program (HAP). She has presented the newest Early Intervention Protocol across the county to therapists dealing with individuals affected by recent disasters. As one of the coordinators of the HAP NJ Trauma Response Network of EMDRIA certified therapists, she provides short-term pro bono treatment. A specialist in post trauma treatment, Dr. Masciandaro works with companies such as New Jersey Transit when their employees are traumatized on the job. She is one of the NJ Regional Coordinators for the EMDR International Association. Dr. Masciandaro holds Consultant status with the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and EMDRIA and she offers case consultation in both hypnosis and EMDR.
