Health and Wellness Seminar is Free and Open to the Public
On Thursday, March 21, The Atrium at The Allendale Community for Mature Living will host a health and wellness seminar, “Eating and Digestive Disorders for the Elderly,” by Dr. Mitul Patel of Bergen Gastroenterology. This free event is open to the public and will begin at 6:30 p.m. in The Atrium Lounge.
In his seminar, Dr. Patel will address common digestive issues including heartburn and acid reflux, difficulty swallowing, constipation, and diarrhea. He will also focus on the warning signs of digestive disorders and give an overview of an endoscopy and colonoscopy. This event is part of Karen Angrist MSW, LCSW Caregiver's Support Group and Seminar Series, which is held on a monthly basis featuring pertinent health topics.
“The primary goal of our community outreach effort is to improve the lives of seniors in our area. Educating seniors as well as their families on key health and wellness issues helps us work toward achieving that goal,” said Marion Giordano, director of admissions and marketing at The Allendale Community.
Pre-registration is required, and a dinner will be served. To RSVP or for more details on the event, please call Marion at (201) 825-0660 ext. 7997. The Allendale Community for Mature Living is located at 85 Harreton Rd. in Allendale, which is conveniently accessed via a private driveway off of Route 17 South.
