Bag Hunger With Celebrity Chef Jesse Jones On Friday March 8th in the Coworkers Lounge at Bloomingdale's
Fairway Market has donated the food needed for Chef Jesse Jones to cook up a menu consisting of Apple Cider Brined Chicken, Penne Pasta with roasted vegetables in a pesto cream and tomato sauce,, Mixed Green Salad with tomato cucumber relish and Honey Buttermilk Cornbread. Supervised by Bloomingdale's Managers Bess Costa, Ceryl Laganella and Alice Casso, Chef Jesse Jones has volunteered to provide the culinary expertise required for this endeavor. Store General Manager and Vice President of Bloomingdale's Michael Majoros heartily approved of this humane effort.
Coordinated by Karine Abrahamyan, Culinary Specialist from Karina's Cuchina, and sous chef Eleftheria Mokanos, forty pounds of chicken cooked at Karina's Cuchina will be on the menu.
During the annual Partners in Time Bag Hunger food campaign, Bloomingdale’s, other department stores and Bag Hunger central office locations band together to help alleviate summer hunger – a time when food pantry shelves are often bare and school meal programs are not offered. In 2011 and 2012, a total of 17.2 million pounds of food and equivalent monetary contributions were given by our generous associates, spurred on by a good-natured competition among locations.
Mr. Majoros thanked his coworkers, Fairway Market and Chef Jesse Jones for their efforts in contributing to make this endeavor a huge success.
