The four West Brook students decided this year that they wanted to start volunteering in the community. After a long search and a lot of thinking, they chose the Special Olympics because they liked that the organization offered sports training to individuals with intellectual disabilities. They all play sports so they understand how sports can give you confidence, build friendships and teach you teamwork.
The Polar Bear Plunge was fun and rewarding for all! The four created a SpongeBob theme for their team and wore costumes. They plan to participate in many more events on behalf of the Special Olympics and are excited to be making a difference in the community.
