After the heartbreaking defeat yesterday of three commonsense gun violence prevention bills in the Senate, CourageCampaign.org has asked its members to cut off all support for Democratic Senators who voted against modified background checks.“We’re the activists, the Democratic base,” said Rick Jacobs, founder of CourageCampaign.org. “We’re the people who donate in elections, knock on doors, and get out the vote in tight elections.”
Background checks are supported by more than 90% of Americans. More than 15,000 people have signed the pledge to cut off all financial support Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND), Max Baucus (D-MT), Mark Begich (D-AK), and Mark Pryor (D-AR) in less then 24 hours. All of these Senators with the exception of Sen. Heitkamp are up for re-election in 2014.

CourageCampaign.org members are also pledging not to to donate to any Democratic party committee, like the DNC and DSCC, that spends money to get these four senators elected.
"Max Baucus clearly cares more about bullets than bodies of dead children,” continued Jacobs. ““He leads the ‘Coward Caucus’, none of whom need come calling with their begging bowls when it's time to raise money."
