Women-Led Life Science Companies Meet in DC for Relationship-Driven, Three–Day Entrepreneur Bootcamp

From June 19-21, ten promising high-growth companies in biotechnology, medical devices and health IT will be inducted into Springboard Enterprises at Bootcamp, an interactive workshop featuring prominent VCs, angel investors, corporate investors and partners, trusted service providers, and entrepreneurs that have “Been There, Run That.” The three-day session is hosted by venture catalyst Springboard Enterprises in partnership with 1776, The George Washington University, Covington & Burling LLP, and SunTrust.
In addition to raising capital and seeking strategic partnerships, each entrepreneur has an innovative technology solution to a wide range of healthcare problems, from spinal cord injury and Atrial Fibrillation to Psoriasis and Mental health. This year's class will join over 500 women-led companies that have participated in a Springboard Accelerator Program, including Zipcar, Constant Contact, iRobot, ViaCell, Achillion, and Minute Clinic. Collectively these companies have raised nearly $6 billion, created tens of thousands of new jobs and generated billions in revenue. Over 80% have raised capital and over 80% are still in busi.13ness. Ten are listed on public exchanges. All of the participants are available for interview.
After Bootcamp, participants in the Accelerator Program will work with a coaching team that serves as a “personal advisory board” and will help the entrepreneurs refine their investor pitch but, more importantly, hone their strategy and access decision-makers at VC firms, angel groups, large strategic partners and other value-add advisors. “For over thirteen years, Springboard’s focus has been building a pipeline of seasoned women entrepreneurs and serving as a lifelong partner to them throughout their entrepreneurial career, said Director of Programming Joshua Henderson. “That this is Rebiotix founder Lee Jones’ second Springboard company is a perfect example.”

Rogne Bioscience (Oakland, CA) is developing the first topical biologic for mild to moderate psoriasis, which will provide the safety of a topical and the efficacy of a biologic by.
Self Care Catalysts (Toronto, ON) has developed a patient and business intelligence platform called Patient Storylines that tracks real time patient decisions on treatment and disease management.
TalkSession Inc. (New York, NY) aims to make mental healthcare more accessible, affordable, and acceptable through cutting edge technology.
