After a successful first year partnership, Boat Owners Association of The United States, (BoatUS), returns as a second year sponsor of the Inter-Lake Yachting Association’s (I-LYA) annual regattas on Lake Erie, including the Junior Bay Week (July 21-26), as well as the Sail Regatta (August 2-4) and Power Regatta (August 7-11).
The I-LYA represents both American and Canadian boaters on Lake Erie as well as inland lake boaters from Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and West Virginia. The group’s events draw hundreds of participants to Put-in-Bay Yacht Club at Put-in-Bay, Ohio, where they are held each summer.
“We support the Inter-Lake Yachting Association’s goal to protect and promote the interests of boat owners, and enjoy supporting events that bring boaters together,” said BoatUS Membership Program Manager David Mann. The nationwide boat owners group, with over half a million members, offers the only on the water towing service on the Great Lakes with the TowBoatUS fleet. Freshwater towing plans run $67 a year and include BoatUS or BoatUS Angler membership with 24-hour dispatch and $50 of on the water and $50 roadside towing coverage.
BoatUS is the nation’s leading advocate for recreational boaters and provides government representation, advocacy, services such as boat towing and insurance, boating safety programs and money saving benefits. For membership information visit www.BoatUS.com or call 800-395-2628.
