In a recent study by J.D. Power and Associate, Verizon Wireless ranked highest among all other national wireless providers in the Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic, which includes New Jersey, and in the four other regions covering the rest of the continental U.S. The 2013 Wireless Network Quality Performance StudySM, issued on August 29, stated that this is the 18th consecutive reporting period that Verizon Wireless ranks highest in the Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic.
The J.D. Power study measured network quality among U.S. wireless service providers. More than 26,000 wireless subscribers were surveyed from January through June 2013 about their experiences with wireless voice, text messaging and data usage. Based on their responses, Verizon Wireless ranked highest among national wireless companies in all six regions, including the Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic, and tied in the North Central region.
This network strength speaks to Verizon’s commitment to bringing its customers the most reliable network available. In 2012, Verizon Wireless completed $267 million in wireless network enhancements across the New York Metro area, including Paramus, increasing the company's regional network investment to more than $3 billion since its inception in 2000. Nationally, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $80 billion since it was formed in 2000 to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide networks and to add new services.
Since December 2010, when Verizon Wireless launched its 4G LTE network in the New York Metro, the company has aggressively expanded its 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) footprint throughout New Jersey. Verizon Wireless’ roll out of its 4G LTE network across the New York Metro is now substantially complete.
“We remain committed to providing our customers with the best, most reliable network experience,” commented Patrick Devlin, regional president, Verizon Wireless. “We will continue to invest in our wireless networks across the region, empowering Verizon Wireless customers to use smart devices and accessories in faster, more innovative ways.”
