This past Friday, Mark and Estel’s 13th collection was debuted for the first time at New York Fashion Week. The collection played with many silhouettes and full monochrome looks, with pops of refreshing neon appear on the runway every now and then. The ensembles were feminine yet rebellious, displaying a great skill in design balance throughout the entire collection.
“Mark and Estel” is a Los Angeles-based fashion brand that began in 2005, when Mark Tango and Estel Day combined their love of music and edgy style to create signature tees, dresses, and iconic cut-out leggings, as well as many other ready to wear pieces. Mary Kate Olsen was seen wearing their designs, giving them a lead with the press early on, and the media buzz continued even further when Lady Gaga wore custom Mark and Estel “Ripped and Holey Leggings” on her Fame Ball tour. Jessica Simpson and Mischa Barton are among the many celebrities are fans of the rocker-chic yet comfy clothing that are provided by Mark and Estel. The brand has now grown internationally, with retail stores located in over a dozen countries worldwide.
