Mayor Janet Sobkowicz has announced that the Township will again sponsor a Family Fun Festival for residents on Saturday, October 5, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Memorial Field, rain or shine. Admission is free. Free raffle tickets will be given to all attendees for a chance to win prizes donated by our local businesses. Food vendors will be offering chef samples of specialty foods for a dollar and the festival staff will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, and cold beverages for 50 cents.
The committee has planned a new Science Tent area, a variety of games, activities, and entertainment for children and adults. There will be traditional games like sack races, balloon toss, ring toss, ping pong ball/fish bowl toss, and dart/balloon toss. There will be a variety of bouncy rides for the children for an all-day fee of $5.
The WTFD-sponsored Fire Prevention Area will include important aspects of fire safety. The Police Department offerings include a Bomb Squad demonstration and other activities. The Ambulance Corps will be offering public health information and blood pressure readings. Entertainment will include a DJ and martial arts and dance demos. The Golden Seniors, Contemporary Woman’s Club, Knights of Columbus, and other organizations will be participating.
