Doctors and Nurses from Throughout the Region Attend Cardiac Research Symposium at The Valley Hospital

Dr. Bavaria’s presentation was titled "Assimilation of new technologies into cardiac surgery. From concept design to clinical practice." Nearly 150 doctors and nurses from throughout the region attended the daylong event.
Other speakers included Giovanni Ferrari, Ph.D., from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine; Manny Villafana of Kips Bay Medical, Inc.; John Quackenbush, Ph.D., of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute; Jason Sperling, M.D., FACS, and Alex Zapolanski, M.D., FACS, of The Valley Columbia Heart Center; and Greg L. Kaluza, M.D., Ph.D., FACC, of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation.
Course directors and moderators were Dr. Ferrari and Juan B. Grau, M.D., FACS, FACC, Assistant Professor of Surgery Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and Director of Translational Cardiac Research at The Valley Columbia Heart Center. The symposium was sponsored by The Valley Hospital Foundation.
