Democratic gubernatorial candidate Barbara Buono today received the endorsement of the Hudson County Central Labor Council, a subordinate group of the New Jersey State AFL-CIO representing working families across Hudson County.
"I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Hudson County Central Labor Council," Buono said. "New Jersey is equipped with a talented and skilled workforce and it's time they have a Governor who will stand up for them. The days of inflammatory rhetoric and scapegoating unions must come to an end. When I am elected Governor, New Jersey workers will have an advocate in Trenton who will work everyday to expand economic opportunity and ensure fairness for all."
"We are proud to support Senator Barbara Buono today to be New Jersey's next Governor," said Peter Bussaca, President of the Hudson County Central Labor Council. "Senator Buono is the best choice for working families because she will stand up for New Jersey workers and strengthen the middle class by raising the minimum wage, restoring the Earned Income Tax Credit, and creating good-paying jobs."
The endorsement follows four years of Governor Christie's failed economic policies, which have left New Jersey's economy is in dire shape. 400,000 residents are out of work, the poverty rate is at a 52-year high and middle class families are unable to make ends meet. It's clear that New Jersey workers cannot afford another four years of Chris Christie. Moving New Jersey forward begins with electing Barbara Buono as Governor this November.
