(Englewood, NJ, October 4, 2013) – Englewood Hospital and Medical Center (EHMC) recently hosted a Teal Party in recognition of Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month. Survivors, medical and administrative staff gathered together to celebrate life and healing at this year’s event.
Attendees wore teal ribbons.
Cupcakes with teal frosting and other deserts were served prior to the screening of a trailer for a newly-released documentary featuring EHMC’s “rock star doc,” Dr. Nimesh Nagarsheth. Dr. Nagarsheth is a gynecologic oncologist who teamed up with five other gynecologic oncology surgeons to form a rock band called, “No Evidence of Disease” or N.E.D. The band promotes awareness and education through music and all proceeds from concerts and other events go directly to charity.
Following the screening, participants had an opportunity to enjoy free massages and Reiki, courtesy of the Center for Integrative Medicine at EHMC. The Artist in Residence Program also supplied teal and other multi-colored beads to attendees who wanted to create their own necklace or bracelet for awareness.
