Be Bold This Autumn/Winter

Autumn is a season full of beautiful colours, and winter is a season filled with lots of colourful and intriguing birds, such as the Fieldfare, orange-chest Brambling and the delightful Redwing. With so much colour around us, you would expect that we'd reflect this with bright colours of our own - but we simply don't. In fact, autumn and winter fashion is rather devoid of colour, with greys, browns and dark greens making up the majority of a person's wardrobe.
For sure, the sun might not be coming out to play much in these seasons, but that doesn't mean your wardrobe should reflect this. It does not have to be depressing like the weather that envelopes us.
We say be bold this autumn and winter. Break the mould and buy your autumn and winter clothing in the same way you would summer clothes, with an emphasis on colour and patterns.
Red is the colour of warmth, and it symbolises our physical needs and the will to survive. It is also an energising and motivating colour, and it has the uncanny ability to stimulate intimate passions in us.
Red clothing is always best in the form of jackets, coats and hats like this red Cotton Traders waterproof parka. Red accessories are also a recommended attire this autumn and winter, and you will undoubtedly stand out in the crowd among the black and grey coats.
Remember, though, that psychologists say that being surrounded by too much red can lead to anger and frustration. Best just stick to the coat then!
Plum is the perfect autumn winter colour it is bright but still suitable to winter due its dark tone – so you look like you dressed for the wrong season. You can also play it safe without being too boring by wearing the colour nude, there are different types of nude, find you’re nude and you can accessorise it with a bold bag, jacket, jewellery or scarf! This allows you to be bold without being out of your comfort zone.
Prints / Patterns
Am a big fan of patterns and prints floral prints are obviously more suitable for summer but there are still a variety of print perfect for your winter wardrobe. Plaid- I consider plaid to be timeless along with tweed and dogtooth, they are also right on trend this autumn winter and you can keep it in your wardrobe and wear it across seasons. This plaid womens jacket from Cotton Traders is the perfect example, it is a great addition to any evening outfit and on a cold day it acts as a perfect smart casual layer to under a coat.
I hope this has inspired you to take a chance and just be bold this autumn winter.
