As per schedule, Rotary District 7490 Governor Lenny Agrusti made his official visit to the Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club. While this is a requirement of Rotary International, DG Agrusti has approached his visits with gusto. Accompanied by District Secretary Carl Hassett, this dynamic duo descended the stairs at Doctors Express to the Rotary meeting room. They were greeted warmly, not only because Lenny is DG, but he is also well liked. The Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club members turned out in full force with most of them wearing their Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club shirt.
The DG had mentioned that he doesn't believe in canned speeches and this was evident from the brief talk that he gave when addressing the club. He was also present for the club's donation to three separate organizations in Paramus in the amount of $1,000.00 each. This money was presented by Immediate Past President Joe Castelano and was the result of having a successful Fashion Show. The annual Fashion Show is the club's main fund raising attempt and gives a night's entertainment along with a sit down dinner at a reasonable price.
CPR is the main goal at the District level and our District Governor has educated almost all of the 55 clubs in District 7490 which covers Bergen, Passaic and part of Hudson County. He liked the plans that Paramus Sunrise Rotary is making for a Meet and Greet at Bahama Breeze, their Community projects past and present as well as their charity work. He approved of the fact that President Sophie Stone is encouraging new membership and is actively promoting the Gift of Life Program.
Always a fun loving club, the members presented him with a bag of hotdogs and buns to reflect his early businesses. President Sophie Stone exchanged banners with the District Governor and gave him some presents from Burma/Myanmar. She applauded his dedication!
