The visit was particularly exciting for 99-year-old Allendale Community resident and aviation enthusiast Arthur DiStasi, pictured alongside his daughter, Linda Schweighardt. DiStasi’s 1935 flight school graduation photo is among the historic photographs enshrined in the Hall of Fame. An avid flyer who became fascinated with flight at a young age, DiStasi is retired from a 70-plus year career as a senior design and skills engineer in the aeronautics industry. At the age of 94, DiStasi even learned to fly a helicopter for the first time.
