First-time franchisee Sunny Shakhawala to introduce expanded concept in Riverdale, N.J.
New Jersey native Sunny Shakhawala is embarking on something he has dreamed of doing his whole life. He is about to open his own business and be the boss as one of the newest franchise owners to join the Red Mango brand, one of the fastest-growing frozen yogurt and smoothie chains in America.
And the dream gets even better. Shakhawala has been chosen to open one of the first new-build locations for Red Mango Café in the state of New Jersey. The expanded concept for the international franchise will serve healthy meals under 500 calories, snacks and juices in addition to the already popular frozen yogurts, smoothies and parfaits.
Raised in an entrepreneurial family, Shakhawala says that he has been building on all of his life experiences for this very moment. And he is excited to be one of the first to make the new Red Mango Café a reality in New Jersey. He will open his first location in Spring 2014 at 92 Route 23 North in Riverdale.
“Owning a business is in my blood. It’s what I have been working towards in all my previous 9-to -5 jobs,” said Shakhawala, who graduated from Penn State with a degree in Finance. “Red Mango products are the best of the best, and the franchise support team is incredible. I cannot think of a better time or a better company to start my franchising career with than this strong brand that offers customers an experience surpassing everyone in the industry.”
With his new Red Mango Café, Shakhawala intends to bring more to the community than new healthy dining and snack options. He plans to become an essential part of the community by offering student awards for outstanding academics, recognizing government employees for their dedication and even sponsoring city events or teams, and hopefully partnering with other businesses in town to add value to the Riverdale shopping experience.
“I believe franchising is a great way to contribute to the economy at a municipal, state, and federal level,” Shakhawala added. “Red Mango has such a high appreciation for community involvement. The brand prides itself on presentation from the always full and fresh toppings bar to the well-arranged seating and inviting music, I cannot think of a better brand to bring to the community.”
Red Mango Café will offer an extensive menu including freshly squeezed juices and new café items such as sandwiches and wraps with less than 500 calories as well as a selection of more than 40 all natural frozen yogurts, fruit and yogurt parfaits, probiotic iced teas and natural smoothies.
