Republican Policies Harmful to Struggling New Jersey Families
(Trenton) — New Jersey Democratic State Committee Chair John Currie issued the following statement in regard to U.S. Congressman Frank LoBiondo’s joint news conference today with Governor Chris Christie:
"As reckless Washington Republicans shut down the federal government and knowingly jeopardized relief for Superstorm Sandy survivors, Frank LoBiodo stood with them, voting multiple times to push the government to the brink no matter the consequences."
"LoBiondo and Chris Christie also shamefully endorsed Steve Lonegan, the then-U.S. Senate Candidate who called the Sandy Relief Package ‘ridiculous’ and a ‘boondoggle.’"
"And these are the same two Republicans that simply shrugged their shoulders while critical unemployment insurance benefits expired for tens of thousands of Garden Staters."
"New Jersey's struggling families need commitment and resolve from our elected leaders, not empty rhetoric. We need representatives who find solutions, rather than perpetuate problems. Unfortunately, Frank LoBiondo and Chris Christie continue to support a dangerous agenda while standing in the way of progress."
"Congressman Frank LoBiondo no longer seems to care about southern New Jersey. Next November, we should elect someone who does."
