Plant a Tree and Enter a Raffle to Win Two Free Tickets to Israel

Plant a tree from the comfort of your home or office and win the chance for a trip to Israel – for free!
In celebration of Tu Bishvat, the Jewish New Year for trees, Jewish National Fund (JNF) is offering anyone the opportunity to win a trip to Israel by planting a tree with the organization.

JNF has partnered with El Al Airlines and the Carlton Hotel Tel Aviv for an exciting online raffle to win a trip of a lifetime. When you plant a tree through jnf.org between January 6 and January 16, 2014 at 11:59 pm EST, you will be entered to win two free round-trip tickets to Israel, courtesy of EL AL, and a free two-night stay at the Carlton Tel Aviv, breakfast included. Ten runners-up will win a free JNF E-Z Tree account.
Last year’s winner Alison Wendt planted a tree in honor of her friends’ newborn and was surprised and delighted to learn she’d won the JNF raffle.
“Winning a trip to Israel is so exciting,” Alison said. “It holds a special place in my heart. I am particularly fond of Jerusalem; there is a sacred holiness that surrounds you in the city.
“I believe a tree can be symbolic of a new birth, a new beginning,” she said. “What a wonderful gift to give someone, to plant a tree in honor of a new birth.”
While in Israel, you will have the opportunity to plant a tree with your own two hands at JNF-Harvey Hertz Ceremonial Tree Planting Center at Neot Kedumim, the world’s only biblical landscape reserve.
Tu BiShvat embodies the abiding dedication to ecology, environmentalism, and conservation that JNF has always championed. Over the years, Tu BiShvat has taken on the theme of planting trees in Israel, giving it a special connection to JNF.
