Leo Walter, President of HIKE for Mental Health, addressed the Paramus Sunrise Club at their regular Tuesday morning meeting and invited them to take a hike. His all volunteer organization organizes fundraising hikes to increase the awareness of mental health and to raise funds for its research. In addition, the group is interested in keeping the wilderness trails in good condition and tries to educate the people using them.
HIKE for Mental Health helps to form reliable small group wilderness trail hikes. They urge the participants to solicit sponsorships and help them to learn how. Using www.HikeForMentalHealth.org one can learn about these sponsorships and how to help the quest for mental health research . Direct questions can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org or to call 551 587 1890. Mail can be directed to Hike For Mental Health, 474 Ottawa Avenue, Suite C-21, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ 07604.
The main intent of this organization is to reach out to the public and to alert them that one out of four families are affected by mental health. By reconnecting with nature , the person battling mental health is taken back to the original joy of living. That simple joy of living by experiencing Mother Nature seems to assist in mental illness cases.
This all volunteer organization is constantly on the alert for people to help, be it joining a hike, organizing a hike or to sponsor a hiker. People from every walk of life can assist HIKE For Mental Health by using their expertise and volunteering to help where they can.
