Paramus Police Respond To Accident On Route 4

On Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at approximately 11:53 pm, the Paramus Police Department responded to the area of Route 4 Eastbound and Forest Avenue in Paramus in regards to a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers determined that a 2013 Nissan Altima, color black, driven by Natalie Garcia, 22 yoa, of Garfield NJ, had pulled out of the parking lot of Millers Ale House located at 270 Route 4 eastbound in Paramus, near Forest Avenue. Garcia proceeded to drive the wrong way, west in the eastbound lanes of the highway, in the center and left lanes. A short time later, her vehicle struck, head-on, a 2002 Toyota Camry color silver, driven by Joshua Octviano, 18, yoa, of Bergenfield, NJ which was driving eastbound in the center lane. Her vehicle also struck, head-on, a 1999 Toyota Avalon, color green, driven by Errol Gayle, 50 yoa, of Teaneck NJ, which was driving in the left lane of Route 4 eastbound. Gayle suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center by Paramus EMS.
Natalie Garcia was arrested at the scene for Driving under the influence of alcohol and or CDS (39: 4-50) and Reckless driving (39: 4-96). Other charges against Ms. Garcia are pending. Garcia was released on her own recognizance to a responsible party later in the day.
