Phone lines, Horizon Connect and Blue To You van all mobilized to get consumers covered

(Newark, NJ, March 26, 2014) – With the end of the 2014 open enrollment period for individual policies just days away, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (BCBSNJ) announced an “Insure-A-Thon” to help consumers seeking to purchase a new health insurance plan by the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) March 31 deadline. Under the ACA, most Americans are subject to a 2014 tax penalty if they do not obtain health insurance coverage by the deadline.
The Horizon BCBSNJ call center will be open for extended hours on Friday, Saturday Sunday and Monday. For residents who want to meet in person, the Horizon Connect Center also will be open for extended hours, and the Blue to You van will serve as a mobile location for information and coverage.
“Horizon is committed to helping New Jersey residents get covered, so our trained and licensed agents will be available over the phone, in person at the Horizon Connect Center or on the spot with our mobile Blue To You van,” said Joseph Albano, Vice President of Consumer and Senior Markets for Horizon BCBSNJ. “Through the Insure-A-Thon, we want residents looking for insurance to know that more than eighty percent of individuals who have purchased an ACA plan with Horizon have received financial assistance to help pay their health insurance premium, which has averaged $272 a month.”
Individuals who want to purchase health insurance and determine if they qualify for financial assistance can call the Insure-A-Thon number of 1-877-347-3459 to speak with a Horizon BCBSNJ sales agent during the following days and hours this weekend:
Friday, March 28: 8:00 a.m. – 12 midnight
Saturday, March 29: 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 30: 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Monday, March 31 8:00 a.m. – 12 midnight
Horizon Connect Center – Moorestown, NJ
At the Horizon Connect Center, located in the East Gate Square Shopping Center in Moorestown, individuals can walk in and receive one-on-one assistance from a Horizon Connect agent. Horizon Connect’s Insure-A-Thon hours include:

Blue To You Mobile Outreach – West Long Branch, NJ
The Horizon BCBSNJ Blue to You van will be stationed at the Walgreen’s Pharmacy at 216 Rt. 36 in West Long Branch. Blue to You team members will be available from noon to midnight on Monday, March 31 to assist visitors seeking enrollment information and coverage.
To speed the process, consumers should have their 2014 income and employer payroll information when they’re ready to enroll.
Customer Service Assistance for New ACA Members
Horizon BCBSNJ’s customer service phone lines will also be open this weekend to assist new members who have purchased new ACA health plans through the Federal Marketplace. New members who have benefit and claim questions related to their new policies can call 1-800-355-BLUE during the following days and times:
Saturday, March 29: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 30: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Monday: March 31: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
