Ho-Ho-Kus Garden Club April Meeting & Presentation - “Starting a Herb Garden" with Gert Coleman
At the next meeting of the Ho-Ho-Kus Garden Club on Monday April 28, 2014, there will be presentation by Gert Coleman, Vice president of the Staten Island Herb Society. The program will focus on how to start a herb garden from seed or transplants, in both gardens and containers, and provide tips and techniques on growing, using and storing fresh and dried herbs for recipes, remedies and household tasks.
Gert also writes a garden report column for the Society’s newsletter “The Herbal Thyme”, and is a frequent contributor to the International Herb Association, with articles on herbs and herb gardens in the north east.

The meeting will take place at the Community Church, 400 Warren Place in Ho-Ho-Kus at 7:30pm. All interested gardeners are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served. Ho-Ho-Kus Garden Club Annual Plant Sale
The Ho-Ho-Kus Garden Club annual plant sale will be held on Saturday May 17, 2014 from 9am to 1pm, on the town green, located at the corner of Sycamore Ave and Franklin Turnpike, behind the Ho-Ho-Kus Inn.

The sale will feature home-grown perennials, specialty and native plants, annuals, garden-related treasures, herbs, houseplants and baked goods. There will also be a children’s activity table. All proceeds benefit the club’s horticultural scholarship. Rain Date will be Sunday May 18th.
