Allendale Community for Senior Living

Allendale Community for Senior Living
After Dr. Timothy (Dr. Tim) Giancarlo took over the management of The Allendale Community For Mature Living, he modernized and added many new programs. One of the major ones was a name change to the Allendale Community for Senior Living to reflect the many years of service to the vast community to which it encompasses. When he was ready, he held a celebratory party at the site to which he invited many dignitaries including County Executive Kathleen (Kathe) Donovan. This was his way of introducing the name change.

Held on the second floor of the main building, the hors d'oeuvres and the music made for a very relaxed setting. Activities Director Mary Stampleman was on hand to greet the invited guests an to introduce them to their host. That is a task to which she is well suited. Residents are already enjoying a number of completed campus improvements including new outdoor landscaping, and cosmetic enhancements to The Atrium’s arcade, gym and 24-hour movie theater. Other campus amenities include a library, a game room, a 1950s-style diner, miniature golf, a pub and lounge, a modern activities center with greenhouse, and an Internet café. In the warmer months, residents make use of several well-manicured courtyards.

Last year, a number of key additions were made to The Allendale Community’s management team, furthering its reputation as one of Northern New Jersey’s premiere health care facilities. Kathy Manger was named administrator, while Dr. Evan Kushner has assumed the role of medical director. Kinga Weglinski, RN, and Kathleen Kelly Malaver, CALA, were promoted to director of nursing and certified assisted living administrator, respectively. On hand to make sure that everything ran smoothly was Caryl Bixon Gordon of Caryl Communications and several members of her staff. Caryl does the PR work for Allendale and does a comprehensive job.

Dr. Tim welcomed the County Executive and the Mayor of Allendale, both of whom warmly greeted the auspicious audience. The hors d'ouevres were, as always, done properly and welcomed. The Allendale Community For Senior Living has been welcomed!
