Joe Orgo Talks About ‘Cop 2 Cop’ To Sunset Rotary Club Members

Joseph Orgo and Steve Wolferman)
This week’s distinguished speaker at a regular meeting of the Sunset Rotary Club was Joseph Orgo, a police officer for 26 years and now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at ‘Cop 2 Cop’ where he has been for the past 13 years. He is seen here being greeted by Steve Wolferman, long time Paramus resident and charter member. Mr. Orgo told members that ‘Cop 2 Cop’ was formed to provide counseling and referral services to police officers and their families. ‘Cop 2 Cop’ is a 24 hour Helpline staffed by retired police officers who are licensed professionals and trained mental health specialists, along with volunteer retired officers trained as peer counselors.

Police officers often work under enormous stress which can take a devastating toll over time, often leading to suicide. Cop 2 Cop’s trained staff, all former police officers, recognize and understand the 10 main health issues that law enforcement professionals face. These are; Depression; Work Stress; Anxiety; Marital Issues; Substance Abuse; Legal Issues; Family Problems; Loss/Grief; Violent/Aggressive Behavior; Medical Problems. Recognizing and treating these problems before they damage or destroy an officer’s life is the reason for the existence of ‘Cop 2 Cop.’ For more information please visit this website: www.cop2coponline.net or phone:1-866-cop-2cop (1-866-267-22671-866-267-2267).
