Engines Rev as State Fair Meadowlands Announces Weekly Cruise-In Car Shows

Cruise on by every Saturday at the fair and enjoy the slickest paint jobs and revved-up engines on a range of vintage and modern autos the whole family can enjoy

State Fair Meadowlands today announced that it will hold three exciting cruise-in car shows each Saturday during the fair, which runs June 20 through July 6 at State Fair Meadowlands Fairgrounds, next to the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. The Saturday shows will be 50s Forever, Muscle Car Madness and an Open Car Show featuring all domestic and imported cars and trucks.

On June 21, the 50s Forever show will feature all vintage autos and trucks from the 40s, 50s and 60s. On June 28, Muscle-Car Madness will feature the hottest horsepower and coolest paint jobs of the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s. On July 5, fairgoers can celebrate Independence Day weekend with the Open Car Show featuring souped-up trucks and cars the whole family can enjoy. The Open Car Show will be open to all domestic and imported cars, 4x4s, and trucks, including all makes, models and years.

Attending the car shows as a spectator is free for all fairgoers with a general fair admission ticket. Entering a car in each car show is only $20 and includes two free admission tickets to the fair. Limited space is available and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. All car clubs are welcome to participate.

“This year’s Saturday car shows will be an exciting addition for the fair,” said Al Dorso, president of State Fair Meadowlands. “The Vintage Auto Show will transport fairgoers back as they enjoy a range of classic cars and trucks to the sound of iconic 50’s and 60’s music; Muscle-Car Madness will get pulses racing with some heavy, horse-power action; and The Open Car Show will delight the whole family as they celebrate Independence Day weekend.”

Each car show will be open during the fair’s usual Saturday hours – 2 pm to 1 am.

State Fair Meadowlands is the largest fair in the New York metro area, with over 150 rides and attractions on over 35 acres of fairgrounds. The fair will feature more than 50 food vendors, including favorite “fair fare” such as delicious Jersey pizza, Greek gyros, burritos, corn dogs, curly fries, corn on the cob, turkey legs, funnel cakes, candied apples, deep-fried Oreos, ice cream and more. Fairgoers seeking something really special can try chilled lobster rolls, tender flavorful filet mignon and mouth-watering pasta dishes. This year’s fair will feature 72 thrilling rides, 16 of which are new this year. Fairgoers also won’t want to miss taking a ride in the Batcopter, the original helicopter from the 1960s TV series, as well as the Skyride, an all-time family favorite.

Fair hours are Monday through Thursday, 6 pm to midnight; Fridays 6 pm to 1 am; Saturdays 2 pm to 1 am; Sundays 2 pm to midnight. On opening Dollar Night, June 20, the fair is open 4 pm to 1 am.
