Paramus Police Department Announces Home Invasion Arrests

The Paramus Police Department announces the arrests of the following persons for their participation in the robbery of a Paramus home on May 14, 2014;
1. Edgardo Vasquez-Lopez 20 yoa, of Houston, Texas
2. Christian Hernandez 23 yoa, of Houston, Texas
3. Lazaro Guiterez 37 yoa, of Houston, Texas
4. Madelyn Ramos 37 yoa, of Houston, Texas
All of the suspects were apprehended near Bell Avenue in Teaneck NJ where they fled from their getaway car. They were returned to Paramus Police Headquarters where they were interviewed, booked and charged. All of the suspects were remanded to the Bergen County Jail on $550,000.00 bail with no 10% option.

All of the suspects were charged by the Paramus Police Department on May 14, 2014 with the following;
On Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at approximately 12:54 pm the Paramus Police Department responded to a Mill Run home in regards to a robbery. Upon arrival police interviewed the victim who reported that 3 males and a female had knocked on his front door and rang his doorbell. The 67 year old male resident did not answer the door but looked out the window and saw the suspects at the front door. A minute later the resident heard something break his rear glass slider door of his home. When the resident went down to the first floor of the home he was surprised by at least 2 of the male suspects. The suspects overpowered him and tied him up with a telephone cord,. The suspects then ransacked several rooms in the home and fled the scene. They left in a Dodge Caravan color red. The victim was able to untie himself and call police. The victim received minor injuries but was not transported to a hospital.
The Paramus Police Department immediately gave out a description of the suspects and the getaway vehicle. A short time later, Hackensack Police Sergeant Scott Sybel , Hackensack Detective Rocco Duardo and a detective from the Bergen County Prosecutors Office observed the suspect vehicle driving on Route 4 eastbound near Hackensack Avenue. They attempted to stop the car which then attempted to flee. The Caravan pulled on to Bell Avenue in Teaneck and the 4 occupants ran from the van. One suspect ran across all of the lanes of Route 4 to the north side of the highway. He was apprehended by Hackensack Officer Nick Ortiz with the assistance of a civilian bystander. The other 3 were captured near the vehicle. The Paramus Police Department, Teaneck Police Department, Bergen County Sheriff’s Department and Bergen County Police Department assisted in the arrests.
The crime is still an active investigation and the suspects are currently being processed at the Paramus Police Department
