Sunset Rotary Club Hosts Louis Kleinman from Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance

[media20140717213057495]Members of Sunset Rotary Club – Central Bergen, at a recent meeting, were delighted to have as their distinguished guest, Louis Kleinman who is Outreach Coordinator & Alliance Partner Liaison for the Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance (MWA). He was greeted by Tom Shea, Club President and long time Ridgewood resident. Louis joined MWA, originally aiding in the coordination of City of Water Day and assumed added responsibilities. He is an environmental and preservation activist with a Masters degree in international trade, and has substantial commercial experience in that field.

The MWA is an alliance of over 700 organizations with ties to our regional waterways. Together they work to transform the waters of New York and New Jersey Harbor into clean and accessible places to learn, work and play, with inviting parks, dependable jobs and reliable, eco-friendly transportation for all. Its goal is nothing less than transformation of the entire region by reimagining its harbor. the MWA continues to conduct research, publish influential reports and produce well-attended conferences. The MWA can pull off blockbuster entertainment (delighting 25,000+ people with City of Water Day) and yet focus on detailed projects important to single neighborhoods (building and installing sturdy Eco-Docks around New York City and working for regulatory reform).
