The ten finalists will go on two final judgings –five from south Jersey to a south Jersey venue; five from north Jersey to a north Jersey venue. Each final winner will receive a cash prize of $300 from the Peach Promotion Council. This was the second year of the contest and deemed very exciting and successful by the markets that hosted.

The New Jersey Peach Promotion Council is a non-profit voluntary organization of growers, shippers, wholesalers and associated industries dedicated to maintaining a viable peach industry in the Garden State for the purpose of preserving farmers and farmland; and to providing the highest quality and best tasting fresh peaches for consumers. New Jersey is the fourth largest peach producing state in the country, with approximately 80 orchards on 5,500 acres, producing 30,000-33,000 tons, valued at $30-35-million.
