bergenPAC Performing Arts School Holds Musical Theater Orchestra Auditions
By Press Release Wednesday, August 20 2014 @ 11:31 PM EDT
“The Musical Theater Orchestra enables children to grow as musicians, performers, and citizens,” said musician/composer Glenn Gordon, the orchestra’s leader. “We not only teach music, we teach teamwork and respect.” The orchestra performs on the bergenPAC stage numerous times a year including winter and spring concerts, the Roberta Mathes Gala, and theater and dance showcases. Members will open for certain bergenPAC acts. The orchestra learns Broadway repertoire, accompanies beyondDANCE shows, and participates in outreach programs to schools and other venues. For ages 12-18.
Auditions are in ten minute slots. Auditioners should prepare a short piece to play, no longer than a minute in length, which does not have to be memorized. Auditioners will be asked to sight read a short passage. Please bring the music piece and instrument. Piano and drums are provided. The first half of the evening is for strings, brass, and winds - all other instruments to follow. Please visit bergenpac.org/education/auditions for further details.
