Washington, D.C. (September 4, 2014) – Today RSLC’s partner Maverick PAC announced the “Future 40,” honoring individuals who are paving the way for future generations in business and politics. Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, New Jersey Representative Maria Rodriguez-Gregg, Hawaii House Floor Leader Beth Fukumoto, Former Oklahoma Speaker T.W. Shannon and Future Majority Project Director Neri Martinez are among the list of winners. The honorees will be recognized at the annual Maverick PAC conference later this month. RSLC President Matt Walter issued the following statement:
“The RSLC is proud to grow the next generation of diverse, exceptional Republican leaders and we applaud the selection of Lt. Governor Kleefisch, Rep. Rodriguez-Gregg, Rep. Fukumoto, Speaker Shannon and Neri Martinez as MavPAC “Future 40” honorees,” said Walter.
“We have outstanding elected officials supporting the work of the RSLC that are clearly catching the attention of national groups. Lt. Gov. Kleefisch is reforming government in Wisconsin and co-chairs our “Right Women, Right Now” initiative, which featured Rep. Rodriguez-Gregg as one of the top candidates to watch in New Jersey in 2013. Rep. Beth Fukumoto is a strong conservative leader in the Hawaii House and serves as a member of the RSLC Future Majority Caucus Board. T.W. Shannon is the youngest and first African-American Speaker of the House in Oklahoma history and a proud former member of the RLCC Executive Committee. I am proud to see these state-level leaders, as well as other elected officials and staffers from all across the country, recognized for their outstanding leadership.
Walter continued, “We are also very proud of the RSLC’s very own Neri Martinez for her nomination to the “Future 40.” Her work with the Future Majority Project is changing the face of the Republican Party, recruiting a record-breaking 558 female and 244 diverse candidates to run for office this year. We congratulate her and all the leaders on MavPAC’s honor today.”
