Kean University Doctoral Program in Psychology Awarded Seven-Year APA Accreditation

Union, N.J. – The Kean University doctoral program, Psy.D. in Combined School and Clinical Psychology, has received the maximum, seven-year accreditation by the American Psychology Association (APA). The APA Commission on Accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation as the national accrediting authority for professional education and training in psychology. Kean is now the fourth university in New Jersey with an APA accredited program.

Eat Local every Saturday at the Ringwood Farmers’ Market

Ringwood, NJ – The 9th season of the Ringwood Farmers’ Market is underway providing locally grown produce and products. Each Saturday, from 9AM to 1PM, vendors and volunteers look forward to greeting familiar faces and meeting new customers. 

Vendors provide customers with a wide variety of locally grown and produced food. Shop for the freshest local fruits and vegetables along with the area’s finest baked goods, honey, farm-fresh eggs, grass-fed beef, lamb, pork and poultry, homemade jam, fresh pasta and ravioli, Greek prepared specialties, gluten free entrees, pizza, gluten free baked goods, pickles, hot coffee, sandwiches, herbs, plants and so much more!  This year, we have added an artisan and guest vendor spot, so there will be special treats each week.

Children and their family members who receive services through Valley Home Care, including the Butterflies Program for children with serious or life-limiting illnesses, are benefiting from a unique recreational opportunity with therapeutic benefits offered not in a medical office or home-care setting, but on a fully accessible farm in Mahwah.

The children, their siblings and their parents recently wrapped up a weeklong summer extended-day program at Pony Power Therapies that included horse-assisted ground activities for children and parents, as well as riding sessions for the children.

Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas Donates $3,000 to City Green

Representatives from Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas present a check for $3,000 to City Green, a Clifton, NJ-based non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating the establishment of urban farms and gardens in northern New Jersey’s cities – creating increased access to healthy, local food while cultivating education in food systems, nutrition and the environment, on August 16. The funds were raised during a recent Farm-to-Table dining event at Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas in Clifton, where guests were treated to a five-course dinner using an array of farm-fresh, local and seasonal dishes starring ingredients grown in City Green’s gardens. The donation will support City Green’s “Growing Strong” high school intern program, offering paid summer employment, youth development and job training to inner city students.

Bergen County Superior Court’s Appellate Division Rules in Favor of Inserra Supermarkets’ proposed ShopRite of Wyckoff

Family-Owned Grocery Chain Targets December of 2017 for Opening of Modern, 62,042-Square-Foot Store

WYCKOFF, N.J., Aug. 22, 2016 – The Bergen County Superior Court’s Appellate Division has ruled in favor of Inserra Supermarkets’ proposed ShopRite of Wyckoff at the corner of Greenwood and Wyckoff Avenues. In a decision issued on August 18, the Appellate Division unanimously affirmed lower court rulings, dismissing the final three counts in a 14-count objection filed by competitor-objector Stop & Shop. Inserra Supermarkets has successfully turned back every legal challenge at both the Superior Court and Appellate Division levels, and is targeting a December of 2017 opening of a modern, 62,042-square-foot store.
