Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk

The Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk will be held at Bergen Community College on Sunday, Sept. 21st.  Registration will begin at 8:30am with a doo wop group singing.  There will be bagels, Starbucks coffee, water, free t-shirts, cliff bars, face painting and a slide for the kids.  Every dollar raised goes directly to research through the Lustgarten Foundation.  I encourage everyone to attend to help raise funds for the 4th leading cause of cancer deaths in the US which only receives less than 2% of the federally allocated funds.

Rep. Pascrell Statement on Russian Aggression in Ukraine

PATERSON, NJ – Today, U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09) released the following statement regarding the increased Russian military aggression in Ukraine:

“Today, the President made clear what the world knows: that Russia is supporting, arming, and fighting alongside the separatists,” said Rep. Pascrell.  “While multilateral sanctions are an important part of stopping Russia’s military offensive in Ukraine, we must also ensure the Ukrainian people are able to defend their families and homeland. The United States stands with the Ukrainian people, and I am proud to have helped introduce bipartisan legislation that would authorize the President to provide military assistance to Ukraine and reaffirms our commitment to helping Ukrainians. Even though they are not in NATO, Ukraine is a friend of the United States, and it is unacceptable that we not provide them the means to defend themselves and preserve their territorial integrity.”
