School Bus Fire in Paramus

On May 23, 2016, the Paramus Police Department and Fire Department responded to a school bus fire located in front of Eastbrook Middle School located at 190 Spring Valley Road. Upon police arrival, the driver of the bus, identified as Jose Rodriguez of Paterson NJ  had safely evacuated 22 students from the bus. No one was injured.

Shop-Rite to Anchor Retail Component at The Oaks at Glenwood in Old Bridge, NJ

New 2,400 Acre Mixed-Use Development will include 500,000 SF of retail and 2,000 Residential Units

Old Bridge, N.J. (May 23, 2016) –  The Brunetti Organization, a prominent real estate developer in both Central New Jersey and South Florida, has announced that Shop-Rite has signed on as the anchor retail tenant at their soon-to-be-developed 2,400-acre mixed-use town center development, The Oaks at Glenwood, in Old Bridge, NJ.  Construction on the 90,000 SF grocery super center is set to begin almost immediately, with occupancy of the Shop-Rite and other retail tenants scheduled for the Summer of 2017.  The announcement of the Shop-Rite lease is expected to spur finalization of lease negotiations with several additional well-known retail tenants.

Eva’s Village Receives $20,000 Mission Support from Ridgewood Presbyterian Church

Eva's Village a Paterson, NJ, anti-poverty, nonprofit organization, partners with local religious organizations to raise funds for its twenty integrated programs to assist those in need.

Eva’s Village was one of five mission partners chosen to receive a gift of over $20,000 from the West Side Presbyterian Church’s “10 x 10” Lenten Campaign. Nancy Simpson, Chair of Missions and Social Concerns at the Ridgewood church, explained that partners were selected because of their work with the homeless. Covenant House NJ, Family Promise of Bergen County, Youth Self Development, Paterson, & Pwojé Espwa Sud Orphanage, Haiti, were also chosen as mission partners. “These are all places where West Siders have had hands-on experiences helping and feeding people,” Ms. Simpson noted.

Menendez, Booker Announce $2M from EPA to Assess, Clean Up Contaminated Sites in NJ

NEWARK, N.J. – U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker today announced the awarding of $1,963,658 in federal funding from the Environmental Protection Agency to assess and clean up contaminated sites in Asbury Park, Atlantic City, Jersey City and Plainfield.

“No one wants to live next to a contaminated site that can harm the health and well-being of nearby residents and drag down the local economy,” said Sen. Menendez.  “These important funds will help remediate and return these fallow lands to the community, creating a healthier and more vibrant place for us all to live and do business.”
