CLIFTON, NJ (July 19, 2016) -- Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas, specializing in small plates with a modern twist to Italian classics and fine wines from around the world, today announced that it will host a farm-to-table dinner to benefit City Green, a non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating the establishment of urban farms and gardens in northern New Jersey’s cities – creating increased access to healthy, local food while cultivating education in food systems, nutrition and the environment. The dinner will take place on Tuesday, August 9 at 7:00pm at Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas, 70 Kingsland Road, Clifton, with a reception beginning at 6:30pm.  Proceeds from the event will support the “Growing Strong” high school intern program, offering paid summer employment, youth development and job training to inner city students.

The Community Chest Awards Nearly $200,000 to 24 Organizations Throughout Bergen County

(Englewood, New Jersey) -- The Community Chest, a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization servicing Englewood, Englewood Cliffs and Tenafly, New Jersey, awarded $195,000 in annual grants and The Harriet Tanner Impact Grant to 24 organizations. 

            Founded in 1932, The Community Chest supports local nonprofit organizations serving people in need.  This year's grant recipients provide services to meet peoples' needs of all ages in these categories: health and mental health (25%), children and youth (20%), older adults (18%), arts programming (11%), women (11%), hunger (7%), environment (4%), and volunteer (4%).

Elizabeth Officals Award Commendation To PBA Local #4 For Holiday 5K

Local officials award law enforcement in Elizabeth with a commendation at Elizabeth City Hall on June 27 in recognition of their coordination of the 5th Annual Jingle Bell Run 5K, held at The Mills at Jersey Gardens, New Jersey’s largest outlet and value retail center, in December. The holiday-themed USATF-certified race around-the-mall, hosted in partnership with Elizabeth Police Benevolent Association’s Local #4, included more than 350 runners – decked out in Santa hats and jingle-belled shoes – and raised $15,435 for Children’s Specialized Hospital, the nation’s largest provider of pediatric rehabilitation services, and its ten sites throughout New Jersey.
