HackensackUMC Reuten Clinic Learning Center Reopens with Wizarding Theme


The Reuten Clinic for pediatric hematology/oncology at Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center reopened its Children’s Learning Center on Friday, December 5 with a magical wizard theme from young adult literature.  The reinvigorated Learning Center features murals, computers, a magical chandelier, aged wood flooring, desks, a state-of-the-art SMART board, and a portrait “thank you” wall for all of the supporters of the project.

The Englewood Public Library to Present the All Seasons Chamber Players in Concert Sunday Jan. 11

The Englewood Public Library will welcome the All Seasons Chamber Players for the 30th time as it hosts a free concert on Sunday, January 11 at 6pm.

The much acclaimed All Seasons Chamber Players will perform a program called Happy Harpsichord Holidays! featuring the ensemble’s beautiful 2-manual Flemish harpsichord in combination with flute and strings. The program will include works for flute, violin, cello and harpsichord performing in solos, duos and trios with works by composers from the late Renaissance to early Classical period.

The Adsila Retreat Offers Place of Healing for Human Trafficking Survivors as well as Outstanding Non-Profits from Across the NationBrant Lake, New York– December 2014 –In scenic, upstate Brant Lake New York, The Adsila Retreat will soon provide survivors of human trafficking the opportunity to heal and reintegrate into society. This program —being developed in partnership with Girls Educational and Mentoring Services—will initially be held in September of 2015, and on an annual basis thereafter. While not in session for healing retreats, The Adsila Retreat will invite other outstanding nonprofit humanitarian groups to use the facility, free of charge, for leadership and planning retreats.  The goal in providing these retreats for outstanding nonprofits is that ideas, collaboration and teamwork generated at the retreat will lead to tangible, program improvements in the services these organizations already provide.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ, December 30, 2014 – The Valley Hospital recently announced its first implant — and the first in New Jersey — of the world’s smallest pacemaker. The device, which is one-tenth the size of a conventional pacemaker and comparable in size to a large vitamin, was implanted as part of a global clinical trial.
