Robert McKee Joins Provident Bank as Assistant Vice President and Relationship Manager


ISELIN, NEW JERSEY (November 14, 2016): Provident Bank has named Robert McKee of Westwood, N.J., Assistant Vice President and Relationship Manager in the commercial real estate lending division.  In his new position, McKee is responsible for the origination and monitoring of commercial real estate loans. He will be based in Provident’s administrative office, located in Iselin.

Paramus Winter Wonderland and Tree Lighting


Mayor Richard LaBarbiera and the Paramus Council invite all to attend the annual Winter Wonderland and Tree Lighting event on Sunday December 4th from 1-5 pm at the Paramus Borough Hall complex.

Santa, Mrs. Claus and their Elves will be in Santa's lair greeting everyone with a bag full of surprises from 1:30-5 pm and then the tree lighting ceremony will be taking place at 5pm.

There will be many rides and attractions including an ice skating rink, with skates provided, a bungee trampoline, snow globe with photos, carnival games and prizes. There will also be a food area provided by many Paramus restaurants: Red Lobster, Reilly’s Rib Cage, Olive Garden, Legal Seafood, Suburban Diner, Brightview Assisted Living, Yo Sushi, Paramus High School Culinary, and BJ’s. Music also will be provided by a DJ.

HUD REPORTS HOMELESSNESS IN NEW JERSEY DECLINES IN 2016


In New Jersey, estimates show consistent decline - 11.9% reduction from 2015; 35.2% since Opening Doors in 2010; and 48.6% since 2007
Nationwide estimate shows continued reduction in number of persons in shelter and on streets
NEW JERSEY –  Homelessness continues to decline in the U.S., specifically among families with children, Veterans, and individuals with long-term disabling conditions according to the latest national estimate by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  Meanwhile, HUD's 2016 Annual Homeless Assessment Report to Congress  found the number of persons experiencing homelessness in New Jersey on a single night in 2016 fell 11.9%, from 10,098 to 8,895.

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey sends over $70 million in rebates to Individual and Small Group Members


(Newark, NJ, Nov. 17, 2016) – Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon BCBSNJ) announced today that rebate checks averaging $423 have been sent to nearly 155,000 members who purchased an individual policy from the company in 2015.  More than 32,000 small group members will also be getting a rebate on their 2015 premiums by the end of the year.  Horizon will rebate a total of $70.9 million.
