Holiday Food Drive

Haworth, New Jersey 10-1-15   The Bergen Center for Child Development’s Rotary Interact Club and Student Council is holding a food drive to help families in need this holiday season.  Mrs. Laura Joles, Mrs. Arelis Guzman and Mrs. Christine Smith will be coordinating the collection non-perishable food items now, through November 9th.  The students are hoping to make this a joyous holiday season for those less fortunate in Bergen County.  The donated food items will be given to the Center for Food Action (CFA Englewood, 192 West Demarest Avenue, Englewood, NJ 201569-1804).

Burglary of the Paramus T-Mobile Store

The Paramus Police Department announces the arrest of the third and final suspect involved in the Burglary of the Paramus T-Mobile Store that occurred on September 23, 2015. (Original release below)

Edward A. Sweny, 35 yoa, of the Bronx NY, was arrested by Paramus Detective Sergeant Frank Scott, Detective Dmitriy Mazur and Detective Thomas Schroeder, all who are assigned to the Paramus Police Department Special Investigations Unit.

We are proud and excited to bring to our community, an exhibit of paintings and clay art created by Bergen County survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault who participated in Art of Survival workshops, sponsored by Center For Hope And Safety, formerly Shelter Our Sisters.  The participants communicate the effects of trauma and abuse through the creation of their paintings and clay art.  Imagination and artistic expression through the creative process can foster growth, development, self-exploration, a sense of empowerment and ultimately healing.
