Paramus Elk Chip Morgan has been overseeing the Paramus ELKS Student In Government program for many years. In addition to all the preparatory efforts, he shepherds them over to Paramus Borough Hall to meet with the Mayor and various Department heads. He then makes sure that they are there for the evening Mayor and Council meeting where they assume the Council roles of government and also appoint 'officials' to the various municipal offices.

Storms to Slow Cleanup in Moore Through the Weekend

AccuWeather.com reports severe thunderstorms will threaten ravaged Moore, Okla., through Thursday evening. Cleanup efforts will continue to be disrupted by occasional thunderstorms into the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.
A stubborn front near the city will combine with warmth and humidity to spark additional thunderstorms, some severe, through early Thursday evening. The main threats will include damaging winds, large hail and flash flooding. The town was devastated by an EF5 tornado on May 20, and conditions this week have generally not been favorable for cleanup.

Mayor And Council Meeting 5-21-13 It was a very busy night for the Mayor and Council. Delayed by important business in the Caucus Room, the meeting did not start until ten minutes after the scheduled time of 7:45. The meeting, officially opened by Mayor Rich LaBarbiera, started off with the Students In Government sponsored by the Paramus ELKS and overseen by Chip Morgan. After that came the swearing in of Captain Robert Guidetti of the Paramus Police Department. Then came a Presentation of New Jersey Healthy Town and Recognition of the Paramus High School Music Department including teachers and students. I've lived in Paramus for years seemed to be the main theme throughout these presentations.

Weather Improves for Recovery Efforts in Moore, Okla.

State College, Pa. -- 22 May 2013 -- AccuWeather.com reports after additional strong thunderstorms rolled through portions of tornado-ravaged Oklahoma on Tuesday, the weather will improve greatly on Wednesday.
Drier, less humid air will push in from the northwest on Wednesday, which will allow for a sunny day. The dry air will squash the threat for any thunderstorms.

Northeast Memorial Day Weekend to Start Wet, Chilly

State College, Pa. -- 22 May 2013 -- AccuWeather.com reports the Memorial Day weekend will begin cool, windy and rainy in New England and part of the mid-Atlantic.
The storm system responsible for severe weather and deadly tornadoes over the Plains earlier this week will give birth to a new storm over the Northeast as the week draws to a close and the holiday weekend begins.
The event will start as locally severe thunderstorms Wednesday evening into Thursday evening spreading slowly from the Appalachians to the East Coast.
