Verismo Opera Receives Grant Award From Bergen County Division of Cultural & Historic Affairs

Bergen Freeholders Authorize Acceptance of Grant to Fund Early Intervention Services for Children with Developmental Disabilitie

HACKENSACK- The Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders on Wednesday adopted Resolution #716-16, authorizing the application and acceptance of a grant in the amount of $1,480,493 from the New Jersey Department of Health to fund Early Intervention Services that seeks to help children with developmental disabilities and delays age 0-3 receive early help and maximize their future potential.

Representatives of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar present a check for $77,080 to Autism Speaks – whose mission is to change the future for all who struggle with an autism spectrum disorder – on June 16.  In support of Autism Awareness Month, Applebee’s locations owned and operated by Doherty Enterprises in New Jersey, Long Island, Florida and Georgia, donated a portion of the proceeds from the sale of “blue” drinks – including Blue Skyy Electric Lemonade and Blue Moon draft beer – as well as paper puzzle pieces, throughout the entire month of April.

Lake Tappan Paddle Day is a family-friendly day of paddling on the Lake Tappan Reservoir in Old Tappan, New Jersey. This year’s event takes place Saturday, August 13 (rain date August 14) and is a collaborative partnership between Hackensack Riverkeeper and SUEZ – formerly United Water. The paddle day is an annual fundraiser that supports Hackensack Riverkeeper’s mission to protect, preserve and restore the Hackensack River. It is also the conclusion of Riverkeeper’s annual Reservoir Paddle Series.
