“This is a great opportunity for the community to get involved with MDA and its clients,†says Mocella Johnson, former Northern New Jersey Chapter President and Stride & Ride team captain. “It’s a way for the community to see exactly how their generosity can benefit people with Muscular Dystrophy.†The Stride & Ride event will be a fun and festive gathering of those MDA serves along with other MDA supporters joining together to fight neuromuscular diseases. Participants will walk or ride along a 1-mile loop inside the mall beginning 8:30 a.m. Registration for the walk begins at 7:30 a.m.
MDA is currently seeking Stride & Ride team captains. Team captains are asked to recruit 9 other team members – consisting of friends, family, or co-workers – to walk (or ride) and raise funds for MDA. Each participant is responsible for raising at least $65, which will fund one minute of scientific research to find a cure for neuromuscular diseases. Walkers and riders reaching certain donation levels are also eligible to receive great prizes. If you’d like to become a team captain for Stride & Ride or to get more information, please call (201) 843-4452.
