Meeting # 12 Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club

Meeting #12
We were honored to have Ray Wells, Emil Geering and Linda Port visit us from the Paramus Club, our sponsor. Ray has been very active, even before his return from Florida, in getting our club needed supplies for startup. Ray, District Governor Joe Laureni and Chief of Staff John Mosca, our District Liaison presented a program for the club.PRID Ray outlined his efforts in getting us banners, pins and a case plus a lectern for our Charter. DG Joe gave forth about the District Staff meeting the night before while CoS John presented us with folders that included the 4Way Test and explained several facets of Rotary responding to queries about the Paul Harris Recognition and Foundation donations. Our Charter Papers will be at RI before the week is out according to John.

President Anthony Iacono gave a brief discourse on the Barclay PGA tournament . over a million dollars of donated prizes. International Director Liz Mason mentioned that her organization, CAFS (Children's Aid and family Services, will be a beneficiary. We'll have more on that in a separate article. Community Service Director Rick Cary updated us on our 2 projects. It was he who  installed the sign at the WBSHC. The Bandshell planting should be ready before the June 8th Cultural Council initial presentation. Peter Kikot will be our next weeks speaker covering the Gift of Live. We will also have a speaker from the Rotary Foundation after that.

There was a meeting of the Charter Night Gala scheduled for Monday evening (6:30) at Sanzari's in New Milford. Valerie Coniglio, our chairperson, informed us that we are limited to 80 seats, cost $55.00, a bargain for such an elegant eating establishment.

Treasurer Gary Spivak brought our new club banners to the meeting. It was decided that there would be a charge of $7.00 per banner for those that wished to obtain one.

President Anthony Iacono affirmed that we are the Loosey Goosey Club. Our spirit is hard to beat!
