Fairway’s “Hosting The Holiday Tasting Event”

Fairway Holiday Tasting
Always eager to please its clientele, Fairway Market, located in the Fashion Center, in northern Paramus held a tasting event from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM on Saturday, November 5th. Special tents were set up under the overhead and Jennifer Fellman, Paramus Catering Expert was busy making sure that the chafing dishes were ready and the food arranged properly. Especially mouthwatering was the turkey set up in the middle of the food line.

Starting out with 2 varieties of soup, served in a small plastic cup, one went through the line sampling candied sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, roasted butternut squash, turkey in a delicious gravy served with cranberry sauce, savory sausage stuffing and a choice of blueberry or apple pie for dessert. Jennifer was on hand should anyone have any comments or would like assistance with their holiday order.

Of course a visit to the sampling tables required a visit into the store where pumpkin pie was on sale for $7.99, a most delectable baked pie with a crust to match. There was pumpkin soup in the fresh made soup department, an area where I have yet to have had a store bought soup taste. My latest venture the other day was bean and escarole soup. The second day, I added some ham bits that I had in the freezer which made it another delight.

A stop at the fresh fish department yielded a special on 16 – 20 count shrimp. After many years of making ten pounds of shrimp for my family at Christmas time, I have found that Fairway’s shrimp surpasses any of the others that I have purchased from different venues over the years. Looking to find their housewares area, I asked Lori, a special red vested guide for people with questions, for its location. Lori, seeing my bewilderment, escorted me to the area.

Wandering through the store, it was all I could do from getting foodstuffs that I craved. Living alone, one has to remember that the freezer can only hold so much!
