Democrats Hold GOTV Meeting At The Venetian

Democrats Hold GOTV Meeting At The Venetian
The term GOTV was strange to me, but the V part was solved by Senator Bob Gordon who told the assemblage that V stands for Victory and to Get Out The Vote! Before Bob, Tim Eustace and Connie Wagner took the podium, Newark Mayor Cory Booker gave a rousing speech to over 300 people. Connie Wagner deplored the smear tactics of her opponents and the fact that the Governor was involved in their campaign lending his credence to the smear tactics. Bob, Connie and Mayor Tim Eustace have tried to conduct an ethical campaign based on issues and not smears or distorting pictures.

Mayor Rich LaBarbiera introduced the two Paramus Council Candidates and promoted the Bellinger and Lagana ticket. He explained the difficulties encountered in working with a lopsided Council and hoped to have at least two Democrats back on the Council in the 2012 year. Rich urged everyone to help get out the vote this coming Tuesday!

County Freeholder David Ganz and Assemblywoman Joan Voss, a candidate for the Freeholders, explained their positions and also hoped to change the opposition heavy condition of the County Freeholders.

It was a pleasure to see former Councilman Mike Blitzstein, Fred Hayo, Lou Romano, Irving Gall. Peter Caminiti, Rich Conte  and Frank Ciambrone as well as Council candidate Pat Verile. Pat and Frank ran in the Washington, DC marathon, each dedicating their run to a charity.

Needless to say, food at The Venetian was superb with both hot and cold stations.
