KosherFest 2011 Is Larger Than Ever Before At Meadowlands Expo Center
Just the parking spaces alone showed the vast number of visitors to the 2011 Kosherfest at the Meadowlands Convention Center. Inside, the huge amount of displays and the crowds attested to the popularity of this kosher festival. Attendees were seen up and down the aisles sampling the many food and beverage wares. The assortment consisted of appetizers, baked goods, liquid drinks, candy, deli offerings and snack foods. Kosher professionals who attended were given the chance to sample gluten free products, cookies, chocolates, hotdogs, pastrami, corned beef, cheeses, breads and cakes among others.
One of the more interesting displays came from the Manischewitz Company of Newark, NJ. Co-President and CEO Alain Bankier gave www.ParamusPost.com a guided tour through their large display. He explained that in the future, Manischewitz would not be known for matzo alone, that they were branching out into foods used all year. One of their innovations is vending machines of their products designed for the mobile kosherites on the run. Broken down into three categories: Mediterranean, Comfort and Health & Wellness Foods. Their alternate brands, Cohen’s, Guiltless Gourmet, Season, Tam Tams, Asian Harvest, Mispacha and Manischewitz/Ratner’s among many other registered names were on display .
Strolling down the aisles sampling wares and learning about products can be very educational. The Kosherfest had vendors from all parts of the world who came and displayed their wares. While it is designed for the kosher professional, people dealing in food would get a good idea of the kosher market and its acceptance.
