Arriving at the Falls from McBride Avenue, it was a pleasure to note that there is now ample parking space. That side of the falls has monuments and maps as well as an impressive view of the falls and the hydroelectric plant that once served the Paterson silk industry, the reason that Alexander Hamilton selected it for growth.
After viewing the scenery, one could see cars parked in the distance near Hinchcliffe Stadium Many an Eastside/Westside football game was played there around Thanksgiving. A bit of nostalgia, there also used to be mini auto racing inside the stadium way back when!
The view from the Stadium was tremendous. It gave a better view of the impact of the falls with all the froth and foam rising. Good thing it wasn’t a cold wintery type day. Some of the steps on that side have fallen into disrepair along with some railings missing, but it was worth the difficulty to navigate the off sided steps. It’s worth the trip to the Paterson Great Falls to savor all the beauty!
