Super Bowl Champ & Paterson Native to be Honored with Celebration, Key to the City
Assemblyman Benjie E. Wimberly (D-Passaic) on Wednesday announced that the long-awaited celebration for Super Bowl champ and hometown hero Victor Cruz has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 15.
Wimberly, who coached Cruz during his days as a Paterson Catholic student, will host the event along with Paterson Mayor Jeffrey Jones and the City of Paterson to celebrate the success of the New York Giants wide receiver who won his first Super Bowl ring in February.
The event – Celebration of a Champion - will commence at the Great Falls in Paterson at 2 pm and conclude with a presentation of the Key to the City at Paterson City Hall. The celebration was originally scheduled for February but was later postponed due to a scheduling conflict.
