“In his case, the cliché is true: Pascrell is a fighter.”
The Bergen Record and the Herald News, the largest newspapers of record in the new 9th Congressional District, have both endorsed Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. in the upcoming Democratic Primary election on June 5th. These newspapers join the Star-Ledger in endorsing Pascrell less than a week ago.
“I am very grateful for the endorsement of the Bergen Record and the Herald News today”, said Pascrell. “These endorsements show that people recognize the fight for middle class taxpayers across northern New Jersey, and across this country, against Tea Party Conservatives.
That fight is more important to people than the well-funded campaign of attacks and distortions my campaign will continue to face until Election Day, June 5. My team and I will keep knocking on doors and taking our message directly to the people that matter most, the hard-working middle class taxpayers across north Jersey. I would like to thank the Bergen Record, the Herald News and the Star Ledger for their endorsements of my candidacy for Congress, I intend to fight every day to continue earning them.”

Key items from the endorsement:
Despite a nasty campaign waged by Rothman, the voting differences between Rothman and Pascrell are not great.
For Rothman, who claims the mantle "Democrat's Democrat," this was not in the best interests of his political party or of the people living in Bergen County who once had a progressive Democrat fighting for them in Congress.
Bill Pascrell does not want to be just the Passaic County congressman; he wants to be the House member representing all people living in the new 9th District. We believe he will. And we expect him to fight as hard as Rothman did for federal money for Bergen County projects.
Pascrell is better equipped to fight for the people of the new 9th District regardless of whether they are liberal, moderate, conservative, Democrat, Republican or unaffiliated. In his case, the cliché is true: Pascrell is a fighter.
