Luckily, most vendors now know the necessity for an overhead covering. In inclement weather, it protects everyone from the nasty elements; in hot weather, it is a relief from the basking rays of the sun!
There was quite a bit of traffic at the market, both on foot and vehicular. Our first stop was at Baker's Bounty where Allison holds forth. In addition to all kinds of breads and baked sweets, she has the most delicious crumb cake. A small cake is just $2.00 and a large one is $7.00. This is the kind of cake where a little dab will do you! Delicious and delectable, it is an item to buy in quantity and to freeze until needed, a perfect gift!
Pickles and sauerkraut were next door and one can have a sour (very sour) pickle or a half sour. This time, we opted for the half sour which has just the right tang. Further on down, a display of luscious tomatoes, two kinds of corn, umpteen varieties of potatoes including sweet potatoes, nectarines and peaches, eggplant, onions, peppers and more were beautifully displayed. .
We'll miss the Paramus Farmer's Market when it ceases to visit Paramus in a few weeks!
