The speaker at the meeting was Stephen Weissner, the Executive Director of Flat Rock Brook, a Nature Center in the heart of metropolis. It is located at 443 Van Nostrand Avenue in Englewood, NJ. Steve, also Rotarian in the Englewood Rotary Club, described the many displays and nature items that a visitor may encounter. For those that want to spend the day there, picnic tables are available. Helped by a myriad of volunteers, this facility offers a trip back to nature and a natural habitat. Offered are: hikes, nature lore, gardening and a 5k Run. The latter will take place on August 11th starting at 8:30. Adhering to the nature theme, it will take place rain or shine.

As usual, the honor lighting of the Remembrance Candle was given to one of the members, in this case, Past President Gary Spivak. The last person to arrive is the person selected to blow it out. All latecomers after 8 AM are required to contribute a dollar to the 'Latecomers Can'. The proceeds from this go towards making someone a Sustaining Member in the Paul Harris Rotary Foundation.
