Paramus Sunrise Rotary Celebrates Xmas In July With SHARE Seniors

Xmas in July
Always on the alert to help, Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club decided to continue their Service to the Community. Last year, the club visited SHARE, Inc's Prospect Place in Ridgewood. and prepared meals for the residents. This year, President Sophie Stone decided to call it 'Christmas In July' by giving gifts to all the senior residents. Arriving with prepared food was a boon because their kitchen was being remodeled. Each of the ten residents received a served meal and also a gift.

The meal consisted of Antipasto, Chicken Parmesan, Ziti with mozzarella cheese, Salad along with soft rolls and butter. To quench the thirst, there was Diet Iced Tea, Birch Beer, and Diet 7UP. This was followed up with a beautiful cake that read Christmas In July.  After that, the residents were given a gift of coconut water  in a spray bottle.

Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club members and children present were: President Sophie Stone, Janet Pomante, Mukesh Malkan, Tina Apprich and Mel Fabrikant. The children who acted as servers were Divit Malkan, Cassy and Christy Stone. Past President Joe Castelano couldn't be there, but he did donate the Chicken Parmesan.

The senior citizens residing at Prospect Place were very grateful and could not thank the club members enough. One might say that the Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club members couldn't thank the residents for the honor of serving them a meal. The motto of Rotary is Service Above Self. Interestingly, when a club member was describing the 4Way Test of Rotary to one of the residents, when he loudly said #5, the club members joined in with Is It FUN! That has been a standard in Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club!
