Watermelon Frosty – Slim Down

Stay in a skinny mood by sipping on this frosty pink blend of watermelon, lime, banana, and coconut water. Add some cayenne to heat things up; spicy foods like cayenne may even give your metabolism a boost.

2 cups frozen watermelon cubes
2 Tbsp fresh lime juice
½ banana
1 teaspoon maple or agave syrup
½ to 1 cup coconut water

boost it: pinch of cayenne

Directions: Combine the watermelon, lime juice, banana, sweetener and ½ cup coconut water in a blender. Turn on blender to low speed to get things moving. Slowly add more coconut water and blend, increasing the speed to high until the mixture blends into thick, frosty bliss.


Green With Energy - Energizing

1 cup chopped kale leaves
1 cup chopped spinach
1 kiwi, peeled
½ cup green grapes
½ cup non-dairy milk (soy used)
1 banana
½ cup coconut water ice cubes

boost it: 1 Tbsp nut butter

Directions: Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend from low to high until smooth.

Limes Over LaserAnti-Aging

Forget about laser and Botox, and grab some limes. And kiwis. And mint. And chug this antioxidant-rich sip. This free-radical fighting smoothie is a much more enjoyable way to take care of yourself from the inside out.

3 Tbsp fresh lime juice
1 Tbsp chopped mint
3 kiwis, peeled
1 frozen banana
½ cup coconut water
½ cup ice

boost it: 1 teaspoon aloe vera juice

Directions: Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend from low to high until smooth.

Kathy Patalsky grew up in Santa Cruz California, where her passion for healthy, happy living began. She graduated with a BS in Health Promotion from American University in Washington DC.
