Ridgewood, NJ – September 14, 2015 – The Valley Hospital has earned the 2015 Women’s Choice Award as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience for a third consecutive year. This designation identifies the country’s best healthcare institutions based on robust criteria that consider patient satisfaction, patient recommendation ratings, and what women say they want from a hospital, providing women the opportunity to identify which hospitals deliver the quality patient experience they seek for themselves and their families.
“We are proud to once again be recognized as one of the nation’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience,” said Audrey Meyers, President and CEO of The Valley Hospital and Valley Health System. “It’s a testament to the priority Valley nurses, physicians and staff place on delivering high-quality, compassionate care to our patients and their families.”
The qualification process for America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience is unique in that it is the only national list that focuses on female patient satisfaction scores. The process begins with scores for each hospital in the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) database. The score takes a subset of the HCAHPS questions that research has shown as being more important to women than to men. Weight is applied to each of those questions to adjust for relative importance and arrive at a numerical score. All scoring is objective and uniform and the Women’s Choice Award accepts absolutely no payment in exchange for placement on the list.
“At the Women’s Choice Award, we’ve identified America’s Best Hospitals across the nation to help women make smart healthcare choices for themselves and their family members,” said Delia Passi, CEO and Founder of the Women’s Choice Award. “Hospitals earning this distinction have demonstrated their commitment to ensuring patient and family needs are at the center of the care being delivered.” added Passi.
