ELIZABETH, NJ (August 30, 2016) – Calling the shoe-obsessed! The Mills at Jersey Gardens is ready to outfit shoppers for all of their fall shoe needs. From ankle boots to athletic shoes and sandals to high heels, ‘For the Love of Shoes’, running September 3-30, will offer customers hundreds of styles and brands of footwear – for every age and occasion – at extraordinary savings. The Mills at Jersey Gardens’ shoppers will find exclusive deals at more than 40 retailers including Neiman Marcus Last Call, Vince Camuto, Nine West Outlet, Converse, Ugg Australia and Steve Madden.
Throughout the month, The Mills at Jersey Gardens will work hand-in-hand with Soles4Souls®, a global not-for-profit committed to fighting poverty through the collection and distribution of shoes and clothing. The Mills at Jersey Gardens will feature a large Simon Shoe Box at Guest Services where customers can donate new and gently used shoes through the Soles4Souls organization. As an added incentive for shoppers, every pair of shoes donated during the event serves as an entry for a $500 Simon Giftcard drawing. There will be one winner from The Mills at Jersey Gardens announced at the end of September. Shoppers simply need to donate the shoes at Guest Services to register.
Continuing the celebration of shoes, The Mills at Jersey Gardens’ shoppers will be treated to a dynamic, live, two-day origami art installation created by expert origami artisans from Japan on Friday, September 2 at 1:00PM and 4:30PM, as well as on Saturday, September 3 at 9:00AM. The artists, robed in traditional attire, will construct three six-foot, three-dimensional shoes before shoppers’ very eyes at the mall’s Center Court. The origami installation will remain at The Mills at Jersey Gardens throughout September.
“As Cinderella knows - one shoe can change a life,” said Crystal Fresco, Director of Marketing and Business Development, The Mills at Jersey Gardens. “During the ‘For the Love of Shoes’ sale, we’re thrilled to not only bring our customers a vast selection of shoes, but also the latest and greatest in affordable styles for every family member. Rounding out the event by working with Soles4Souls®, allows us to provide a platform for the community, our retailers and our employees to give back to those in need while celebrating the universal love of shoes. We look forward to welcoming our loyal shoppers during the sale, as well as new shoppers, who may not know the seemingly endless footwear options that The Mills at Jersey Gardens has to offer.”
As part of the ‘For the Love of Shoes’ sale, customers are encouraged to take and post photos of their shoe finds using #LoveofShoes. To assist savvy shoppers, The Mills at Jersey Gardens’ style experts suggest looking for these four must-have fall shoe trends:
Gold is Bold
In styles ranging from ankle boots to stilettos, fall runways were “as good as gold” this year! Gold shoes are a neutral and can be mixed and matched with any outfit and print. Pair gold shoes with a striped tee and a blazer for a French-inspired look or mix it up with a leopard skirt and button-up shirt. Gold not your color? Stay on-trend with another metallic, such as silver.
Embellish Your Life
One of fall’s most exciting shoe trends is embellishment! Look for pairs with jewels, ankle straps, buckles, flowers and more. Feeling daring? Try a pair lined with faux fur. When wearing an especially embellished shoe, keep the rest of the look minimal, letting the shoes be the stars.
Fashion moved away from pointed-toe shoes for a time, but they are back and pointier than ever for fall 2016. To elongate the leg, try a pointed-toe heel in a nude hue. Pointed-toe brogues are a great option for those that prefer a more versatile flat.
For men and women alike, loafers are a fall staple. Whether a penny loafer or an of-the-moment version, this fancy-yet-comfy footwear option is available in a range of styles and colors. It looks like this classic is here to stay!
