Stop & Shop is committed to helping the Society fund groundbreaking breast cancer research, provide free, comprehensive information and support, and help people take steps to reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable.

“Together, Stop & Shop and the American Cancer Society are committed to finishing the fight against breast cancer,” said Cindy Carrasquilla, Community Relations Manager for Stop & Shop.  “By joining with the Society, Stop & Shop is supporting those in our community who are battling the disease, remembering those we’ve lost, and investing in the most effective cancer-fighting organization in the nation. Our employees are proud to help the American Cancer Society achieve their vision of a world without breast cancer.”

This year, from September 30 through October 16, Stop & Shop will collect donations from customers as they check out. In addition, Stop & Shop supports fifteen (15) Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks in NY & NJ, attended by over 415,000 people, with an in-kind donation of over 200,000 bottles of water. This commitment to fight back against breast cancer is driven by hundreds of passionate employees that voluntarily choose to participate in a Making Strides walk near them, arm-in-arm with their customers and neighbors.

The Making Strides program is the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, uniting nearly 300 communities to celebrate breast cancer survivors, pay tribute to loved ones lost, and raise funds to end breast cancer.
